The Delhi Capitals have organised to send former India Women’s Captain Anju Jain to Japan as part of a developing partnership with The British School in Tokyo.
Jain captained India at the 2000 World Cup and played 73 matches across Tests and ODIs, during a 12-year career with the national team.
Upon her playing retirement in 2005 she also received the prestigious Arjuna Award, one of the highest sporting honours bestowed in India.
Since she finished playing her coaching career has taken off, leading the Women’s National Team from 2011-2013 and the Bangladesh Women’s team from 2018-2020.
Currently she serves as the Assistant Coach for the Delhi Capitals Women's Premier League (WPL) team and Japan will hopefully begin to benefit from her expertise as well.
Her time in Japan will also coincide with a three-match series that the Japan Women’s team will participate in at the Sano International Cricket Ground against Malaysia.
