The second edition of the Japan Cricket League (Female) – Junior Division was completed in early April, with the season unfolding during the cherry blossom season. The tournament delivered an unforgettable weekend of cricket, competition, and connection, highlighting the exciting future of the women’s game in Japan.
Featuring two age categories — Under 16 and Under 19 — the league welcomed more than 100 young female cricketers from across the country. Players travelled from all corners of Japan, and even from abroad, a clear sign of the growing passion, talent, and global reach of female cricket.
Teams quickly came together through icebreakers, training sessions, and educational activities that created an energetic and supportive atmosphere from the very start.
Due to some bad weather on day one, the league’s first-ever Bowl Off was held and provided a thrilling environment that many players were experiencing for the first time. What began as something unfamiliar soon became one of the highlights of the tournament. With encouragement from teammates, coaches, and proud parents, players embraced the pressure, producing dramatic finishes with matches decided by the narrowest of margins.
Beyond the results, the tournament was a celebration of progress. The enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and determination shown throughout the weekend reflected how rapidly the female game is developing in Japan. With more young players stepping onto the field than ever before, the future looks incredibly bright.

The success of this second edition is another important milestone for the Japan Cricket Association, creating meaningful opportunities for young women to compete, grow, and fall in love with the game.
