We were honoured to be named as in the Fan Engagement Category of the ICC Global Awards for 2025 at the recently completed ICC Annual Conference in Edinburgh on 11th July.
The award recognised the way the JCA had partnered with Tobu Railway and CricTracker to boost our presence in both our local community and online. Please see here for a short introduction video.
Tobu Railway’s Tanuma Station was reimagined in 2025 and given cricket-themed wrapping along with the title "Tanuma Station - Home of Japan Cricket”.
Among the many cricket images around the station, which is used by fans and players alike when they visit the Sano International Cricket Ground, is an explainer of the history of cricket in Japan and how Sano became its home.
This project was made possible through the support of Tobu Railway Co., Ltd., Sano City, the Sano Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sano City Aso Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the "Cricket Town Sano" Supporter Club; as well as sponsorships from numerous organisations and individuals such as Nihon Plaster Co., Ltd.; who supplied the plasterwork on the exterior walls and underpass; and the participation of many local citizens in the plastering process.
On the digital side, the innovative partnership with CricTracker to assist with our media output during the ICC Men’s Asia/East Asia Pacific Regional Final in Oman in October 2025 led to an increase of viewing numbers more than 30x what we would usually receive in a month and helped put the Japan team in front of more than 30 million people on Instagram alone.
The JCA would like to thank Harish Metha, Sai Kishore and their team for the work they have put into helping promote Japan Cricket to the world.
