We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cricket ACT for their generosity in sending two members of staff to assist in the busy workload at the Sano International Cricket Ground during May and June.
Groundsmen Todd Darrington and Harry Marshall visited Sano from 30th April through to 6th July to work alongside JCA groundsman Shu Noguchi and Facilities Manager Sota Wada.
The six-week period included the Japan Premier League, The ICC Men’s T20WC EAP Sub-Regional Qualifier and the Sano City Women’s Japan Premier League - a total of 45 scheduled matches.
Chief Operations Officer at the JCA, Alan Curr said of the partnership: “We could not have asked for more of the two staff Cricket ACT sent us. They really understood what we are trying to achieve and the work required to achieve it. Both fitted in seamlessly and, alongside our regular consultant Todd Luckhurst, helped us get through a busy period that would have been very difficult without them.”
He went on to give specific thanks to Tom Fahey at Cricket ACT for facilitating the placements, along with Stuart Karppinen who was central to the visit of the ACT Meteors team who participated in the Sano City WJPL.
Curr added: “We’re really enjoyed working alongside ACT and hope this can be the start of a really productive partnership for both parties over a sustained period of time.”
